Information processed
- Account and profile details, such as name, email, sign-in information, profile photo, contact details and preferences.
- Teacher applications and public profiles, including languages or subjects, experience, qualifications, introduction media, prices, availability and an optional public city.
- Lesson and transaction records, including bookings, rescheduling, cancellations, payment status and payout information supplied for the relevant feature.
- Messages, attachments, support requests, reviews and information you choose to provide.
- Technical information, such as IP address, browser, device, access times, security events and service activity.
Information supplied through Google sign-in depends on the permissions you approve. Do not send passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information in messages or support attachments.
Why information is used
We use information to operate accounts and teacher discovery, assess applications, arrange lessons, process relevant transactions, deliver messages, provide support, investigate misuse, maintain security and improve service reliability. We also retain information needed to meet applicable legal obligations and resolve disputes. Where applicable law requires consent, it must be obtained for the relevant processing; other permitted grounds may include providing a requested service, legal obligations and legitimate interests, subject to your rights.
Public profiles and sharing
Approved teacher profile information is visible to visitors and may appear in search engines. An optional public city can be used in teacher discovery. Clearing it opts out of future city-based discovery, although external search caches may take time to update. Lesson participants receive information needed for their interactions; messages and attachments are shared with their recipients.
Hosting, storage, authentication, messaging, email, security and payment providers receive information necessary for their services. Speeklly uses Hostinger, Cloudflare and Google services, including Firebase and Cloud Storage. Payment and video services used for a particular transaction or lesson may have their own notices. Information may also be disclosed where legally required or necessary to address fraud, safety concerns or legal claims.
Storage, transfers and retention
Service providers may process data outside your country, including in India and other countries where their infrastructure operates. Applicable transfer requirements depend on your location and the service involved. Records are retained according to their purpose, account and transaction needs, security requirements, applicable law and dispute resolution. Deletion requests may be subject to required retention; backups and external caches may not update immediately. Contact us for details about a particular record.
Children and family learning
Parents or legal guardians should arrange and supervise a child’s use of Speeklly and provide only information needed for lessons. Where applicable law requires parental authorization or verification, this must be completed before the relevant processing. Contact support before creating an account for a child to discuss the appropriate arrangements. A parent or guardian may request access, correction or deletion of a child’s information. If you believe a child has supplied information without required authorization, contact us promptly.
Your choices and requests
You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion or closure of your account, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, nominate a representative, or complain to a competent authority. We may need to verify your identity or authority before acting. Withdrawing consent does not undo earlier lawful processing and may affect related features. We respond within applicable legal time limits.
Security, cookies and changes
